Applique
Applique embroidery is the process of placing (tracing, drawing, or machine stitching) a design onto another piece of fabric and then stitching around the applique, which affixes the applique design onto the fabric, such as a T-shirt.
You may purchase a pre-made applique pattern and have us load the file into our embroidery machines, or you can use one of our designs or create your own design.
Applique is derived from the French word appliqué, and loosely translated, it means to “put on.” In addition, the art of applique was known in Egypt in 970 BC.
The instructional video that follows shows you the basics of machine embroidery, selecting your materials, applique design, and working with an applique that’s machine embroidered.
Now that you have a better understanding about machine applique embroidery, do you have an applique pattern that you’d like us to add to a garment or quilt?
